Aleister Crowley's a Leftist? Politics straight from the Beast

by Frater Oz

After the accusation that people like me “persistently interpret his (Crowley’s) words to mean the opposite of what he says,” I wanted to NOT re-write some things and put that accusation into perspective for the “Stamp and Trample” crowd, who seem to me to try do the very thing I feel like that post accused us of.

These are Crowley’s ACTUAL words, as contrasted with some of the views commonly espoused by the Right.

Right-wing: “People working at McDonald’s don’t deserve a living wage”

Aleister Crowley: “… the minimum wage shall be such as is required for decent comfort, with a surplus for amusements & investments.”

Right-wing: “Healthcare is NOT a right!”

Aleister Crowley: “With regard to Liber 77 [Liber OZ], please note that, except in quotations, no word has more than one syllable. I think the right to trade and the right to medical assistance is already implied.”

Right-wing: “I don’t have to be tolerant of anyone, Social Justice Warriors it’s for snowflakes!”

Aleister Crowley: “It is to be noted that wherever team-work is necessary social tolerance is an essential.”

Aleister Crowley: “We are to do what we Will, and leave others to do what they Will. We are infinitely tolerant, save of intolerance.”

Right-wing: “Trans people and Gays are like child molesters. They should not have the same rights as everyone else! It goes against nature!”

Aleister Crowley: “The Beast 666 ordains by His authority that every man, and every woman, and every intermediately-sexed individual, shall be absolutely free to interpret and communicate Self by means of any sexual practices soever, whether direct or indirect, rational or symbolic, physiologically, legally, ethically, or religiously approved or no, provided only that all parties to any act are fully aware of all implications and responsibilities thereof, and heartily agree thereto.”

Right-wing: “This SJW shit is out of hand! Social Justice is for cucks. I am just out here for myself and my family. Not my problem.”

Aleister Crowley: “We have to fight for Freedom against oppressors, religious, social, or industrial; and we are utterly opposed to compromise. Every fight is to be a fight to the finish; each one of us for himself, to do his own will; and all of us for all, to establish the Law of Liberty… Let every man bear arms, swift to resent oppression, generous and ardent to draw sword in any cause, if justice or freedom summon him! “

  1. Hello Brother,

Do what whou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Can you give us reference to those quotes?

Love is the law, lover under will.

  2. Please footnote the sources for each of these quotes, Frater. Inquiring minds are going to want to track them down.

  3. I am 61 years old and I am aware of Crowley and his works for 42/43 years . I think there is hardly anyone else that is so misunderstood as AC. From the first pages and books I read I felt the “tongue in cheek” attitude of AC and took that in consideration with all his works. And that gave me an understanding of what he really meant …

  4. This is low effort and click-bait. Crowley was neither a leftist nor a righty, and people trying to pin him within today’s ridiculous bipartisan politics are either being disingenuous or stupid. Why don’t you also post the equally (if not more) numerous quotes of him expressing aristocratic and elitist views that make most conservatives these days look like bleeding heart hippies? Oh, because you are pedaling an agenda/trying to get views, that’s right.

  5. Frater Oz seems to be full of sh*t:
“Democracy dodders. Ferocious Fascism, cackling Communism, equally frauds, cavort crazily all over the globe. They are hemming us in. They are abortive births of the Child, the New Aeon of Horus. Liberty stirs once more in the womb of Time.

Evolution makes its changes by anti-Socialistic ways. The “abnormal” man who foresees the trend of the times and adapts circumstance intelligently, is laughed at, persecuted, often destroyed by the herd; but he and his heirs, when the crisis comes, are survivors.

Above us today hangs a danger never yet paralleled in history. We suppress the individual in more and more ways. We think in terms of the herd. War no longer kills soldiers; it kills all indiscriminately. Every new measure of the most democratic and autocratic governments is Communistic in essence. It is always restriction. We are all treated as imbecile children.”

  6. Who is this person “Right Wing” that you are “quoting”?
Do they actually exist in reality or are they merely a figment of your phantasies.
A bugaboo/spook that lurks in the shadows of the right hemisphere of your unbalanced brain.

Putting labels like “right” or “left” on themselves and other people is an activity that slaves enjoy.
For every quote of Crowley that you think shows him to be a leftist social justice warrior another quote that makes him look like rabid right-wing fascist can easily be found.

Despite his great-grand daughter going on to marry a future president, I highly doubt Crowley had any interest in politics and it’s mass market mind control, His focus was on the individual and his private encounter with existence.

  7. So he thought like every other elitist. Not shocked, even though he did take it up the arse a few times so you would think he would be nicer to homosexuality. Unless he didn’t consider himself bisexual which could be possible. Anyways, he was only a person, with that in mind, you have to take him with a grain of salt.
